Vormator started as a contest. It provided a handful of basic vectors and encouraged the artists to take these elements and create something much greater than the sum of the parts. I recently revisited the site to see if the competition was still going. Sadly they aren’t continuing with new shapes or goals. They are, however, accepting preorders for a book that collects the best work from over 80 artists (See below).

Even though the shapes are simple, they spark neural avalanche after synaptic explosion. Simplicity is often one of the greatest muses. When I’m in a rut, I usually start off with vector art with simple shapes.
