I like to think of the internet has similarities to an 80's arcade game. Every level just keeps getting faster and faster, until the game is unplayable. Aliens zoom by at warp speed and your quarters disappear like vapor. I like to bring back some of the original joys that got us all hooked. Newcomers, pay attention. Nothing exploits the anonymity of the internet like a body image hate site. Fat Chicks in Party Hats is incredibly mean to the less than perfect, but it is also indulgently funny.

Del The Funky Homosapien's "Eleventh Hour" shines.
Although it's no Deltron 3030, and the producer is no Dan the Automator, the album is solid. It combines Del's trademark wordsmithing with some very jumpy production to render a listenable and great hip-hop album.
Del regularly shows the rest of the the rap scene how it's really done.
Who would like this album: Fans of hip-hop, who favor both interesting beats, and a good lyricist with punchy delivery.
Who would hate this album: Old People.

More sciencelab BS. This story is inspired by an experience I had one Friday.

Excessively exhaustive article on exercise-gaming history on BoingBoing Gadgets. Normally I find Joel whiney and annoying, but the very deep coverage of fitness video game peripherals is intruiguing. It's kind of weird that the wii bandwagon has launched the Wii-Fit to success. It's Friday. Read a long article.

Dueling Analogs has a humorous comic involving our zeitgeist's propensity to churn out planet eaters. What is it about our collective unconscious? From left to right: Galacticus, kirby, unicron.

Girls are Short's "Earlynorthamerican" can best be described as electronic marmalade made a decade after they would have been famous.
They aren't covering any new ground with their sugary beats or walls of samples, but what they do cover, they do it well. The vocals are uplifting when they aren't too repetitive, as their lyrics and tone suggest a pair that is very much in love with life.
Major criticism of the group likens them to Disney radio stars. The content of their music betrays that image with lyrics like "We are the kids who waste everything", and songs about ninjas give them credibility in my book. You won't hear Hannah Montana singing about ninjas (although I wouldn't be opposed to that sort of thing).
Who would like this album: Those who enjoy some high energy (not highNRG) electronic music and don't care that they aren't bringing anything new to the table.
Who would hate this album: Those who dislike repetition or "cute" music.

Ahh, the joys of the 24 hour news cycle. Why bother screening for bizarreness when nobody is watching? Taken to the logical extreme, all news in the future will be aggregated by a computer and then crammed through some crazy logic circuits so nobody can understand it.

Instructables.com has an article on how to make a rickroll cake. It's pretty self-explanatory, but it's always excellent when someone takes the virtual world and brings it into meatspace. The unexpected mark will laugh extra hard at being-had.
